FAQ

Where are you based and do you travel?

I grew up in Mooresville, NC and just moved back to the area in 2023 after living in Charleston, SC so I have many clients all over NC and SC and shoot in both locations pretty regularly. I love to travel all over for photoshoots though, I mean, who doesn't? If you plan on booking a session that requires travel, there may be an additional fee depending on the distance. More often than not, I don't charge for travel to Charleston if it corresponds to a week I was already planning on going!

How many photos will we get and when will we get them?

The amount of photos you receive really depends on the session that you book. Here is a breakdown of some of my popular sessions and the photos returned: 30 minutes (a minimum of 20 edited photos), 60 minutes (a minimum of 40 edited photos), 5 hour wedding (a minimum of 250 edited photos). The turnaround time also varies. Generally, those who book a 30 minute or 60 minute session will receive their photos within two weeks. For weddings, the turnaround time is generally two months.

Do I have to pay extra for photos?

Nope! The edited photos are included in the total cost of your session.

How can I pay? Do you have payment plans?

I take a variety of payment options: cash, check, credit card, Venmo, and Apple Pay. For photoshoots over $200, I do offer payment plans.

Do you charge a booking fee?

Yes, I do - just think of it as a pre-payment! I require a nonrefundable retainer fee in order to hold the date and time for your photoshoot. This payment is factored into the full cost of your session so it is not an additional charge on top of your session fee. The remaining cost will be due the day of your session.

This initial fee is nonrefundable because it is an assurance on both of our parts that we will be there to take some beautiful photos!

Are you licensed and insured?

Yup! (That was an easy one!)

What if the weather is bad?

I am very flexible when it comes to the weather and I understand that most people do not want to stand in the pouring rain for a photoshoot. There is no additional charge to reschedule your shoot if there is inclement weather.

Do you offer newborn photography?

Newborn photography is really the one area of photography that I do not cover. Your newborn photographer needs to be specially trained to ensure that your baby is safe and won't be posed in anyway that could harm them. However, I do offer sessions for children 3 months and older and I'm always happy to recommend photographers in the area who I know have been trained to handle newborns.

I will do in-home lifestyle "newborn" photos (with parents holding the baby, etc)., but those aren't exactly the same as the posed newborn photos that most people are thinking of!
